Network Systems Technician

The Network System Technician is a position that requires a foundational emphasis on Linux based solutions that include abilities in development, configuration and maintenance of Linux and Microsoft based applications. The preferred candidate will have a strong skill set in networking and willing to learn all areas of technology (voice and data).

Job Responsibilities

• Provides end-user hardware and/or software support and training when required; troubleshoots as needed.
• Assesses malfunctions of hardware and/or software applications.
• Voice over IP support, troubleshooting, and implementation.
• Network engineering, installation, and optimization.
• Troubleshooting and documentation of network systems and activities.
• Analysis of current systems for optimization and upgrade.
• Prepare written materials for the purpose of documenting activities.
• Attend seminars, conferences, in-service training and staff meetings as required.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Linux, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on network applications.
• Intermediate knowledge in hardware and networking.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and public relations outreach.
• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability using a “hands on” technical knowledge.

Education/Training/Licensing

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• It would be helpful, but not necessary to have a working knowledge in CentOS, MySQL, Webmin, Apache, Samba, IMAP, Zimbra, FreePBX, SQL Server, Java, C++, JavaScript, PHP and HTML.

Director of Network Services and Infrastructure

We are looking for an experienced executive to lead our network and infrastructure operations.  The successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills, be a team player, have attention to detail, be highly motivated, have a desire to learn new technologies, and have excellent verbal communication skills. Knowledge of business needs and the ability to translate into technical solutions is required.  Must to be able to prioritize work to ensure that focus is on meeting customer service levels.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to Lead a Technical Team, articulate strategic technical plans and execute.  Previous Hands-on experience is required.
  • Manage a highly skilled staff of network services and infrastructure engineers to support the company global infrastructure from NY.  The infrastructure includes Routing, Switching, LAN, WAN, Internet, heavy VOIP and Data.
  • Work with the audit staff to address any outstanding issues that arise in the security audit.
  • Manage the Telco vendors (MPLS, DS3 Voice and SIP) who provide wide area network services to the company environment.  BGP & EIGRP.
  • Work with the Enterprise Management Center to ensure 24/7 availability of all network resources.  This includes performance monitoring and operations to ensure customer service level agreements are met.
  • Work with all other IT infrastructure and development groups to ensure access to applications/resources.
  • Work with the Service Desk staff to address any user issues in conjunction with service level agreements.
  • Work with other divisions to provide enterprise access/resources to the global company community.
  • Design and manage large projects.  Coordinate activities among various divisions.

Education Requirements:

High School and College Degree Required.  Minimum of 8-10 years in network services and infrastructure. Extensive knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, Internet and VOIP support is required.
