Computer Operator

The qualified candidate will be responsible for performing system and network monitoring, batch processing and job completion, problem escalation and resolution, and other routine tasks using HP-UX, AIX, and Windows operating systems.

Accountabilities:

    • Application, system and network monitoring through use of enterprise monitoring tools and routine manual checkpoints.
    • Perform manual execution of batch processing in a time sensitive production environment. Must possess the ability to execute and monitor multiple tasks, for the duration of a shift, to ensure the availability of all production systems at pre-determined times.
    • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and pre-determined guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and co-workers at geographically diverse locations. Must be courteous and respectful with all customers and vendors.

    • Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Ability to be available during the heaviest processing days of each month to ensure system availability to users.
    • Monitoring of backup and restore processes, as well as tape rotation procedures with off-site storage.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to complete all tasks and procedures independently.
    • 0% travel is required.

    Required Experience:

    • 2-5 years of Operations experience in a production, data center environment monitoring systems and running batch processing.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience with Windows operating systems and PC based applications.
    • Minimum 3 year of experience with UNIX based operating systems (Linux, HP-UX, AIX preferred).

      Education / Skills:

        • Associates degree or equivalent in an IT related field.
        • Microsoft, UNIX, and network degrees/certifications are a plus.

                            Desktop Services Manager

                            This is a new management role as this person will be establishing desktop services. They will come in and bridge the gap between where we are today are now and we want to go and function as a change agent, with a vision. Provide leadership and direction in a managed service environment to the Desktop Services teams. Responsible for departmental planning, all aspects of budgeting and forecasting, the development of existing support staff and the creation of a new desktop engineering team.

                            Accountabilities:

                              • Provide tactical planning and operational direction to the Desktop Services staff.
