The Manager, Digital Marketing is responsible for developing, managing and growing the digital marketing business. The role requires an innovator, a trendsetter, a progressive thinker, who can form and execute digital marketing strategies to help our clients grow.

This individual is a strategic leader who conducts research, analyzes findings and leverages insights to develop strategic plans. These plans drive the development of client websites and digital programs that connect a company’s website, online advertising, social media, SEO components and mobile marketing to the organization’s business and marketing goals. Additionally, this person plays a key role in forming the digital marketing foundation of Accountable Campaignssm, proprietary model for metrics-driven integrated communications programs.

The successful candidate will manage digital marketing unit with a focus on continuing to grow and refine the team’s abilities in analytics, SEM and SEO. In particular, the manager must mentor and develop team members’ ability to integrate client analytics with other client information to form actionable insights that provide business and marketing perspective and measure the effectiveness of our digital marketing initiatives. The manager is responsible for team members’ billable productivity and the overall profitable revenue generation of the team; this person helps team members prioritize work, and mentors and guides their successful career development.

This individual maintains a strategic understanding of new and emerging digital and mobile technologies and identifies strategic partners when needed. Additionally, the manager stays informed of new trends in digital marketing tactics and analytics and uses those perspectives to guide client initiatives and evolve the digital marketing offering.

The manager successfully leads business development initiatives in the area of digital marketing to drive growth. This individual plays a critical role in pursuing and closing new business opportunities that enable the success of the digital business. The successful candidate is also responsible for the digital marketing unit’s profitability and for achieving and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.

The Manager, Digital Marketing works closely with account managers, creative staff, business development team and with the company’s external PR partner. This individual educates and inspires strategists, account managers and creative team members about best practices and emerging trends.

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead strategy engagements using JPL’s strategic planning models.
  • Develop strategic digital marketing plans that establish clients’ comprehensive online
  • Work closely with Strategic Accounts Group to develop integrated Accountable Campaignssm featuring a strong digital marketing foundation and analytics-driven foundation.
  • Stay up-to-date on, and advise clients of, the latest trends in digital marketing.
  • Provide actionable, tactical solutions in social media, content development, mobile marketing, and online viral campaigns for both B2B and B2C clients.
  • Define program metrics, establish benchmarks and use industry-standard tools to measure and report website and social media analytics, derive relevant business insights and optimize the ongoing performance of clients’ digital programs.
  • Participate in the qualification of strategic prospects and lead business development activities for website development projects and digital programs.
  • Participate in defining project details and work with other area leaders to ensure a smooth client transition from strategy to execution.
  • Manage and mentor the day-to-day performance and career development of team members.
  • Identify and manage third-party vendors and contractors and evaluate new technologies and techniques for our clients on an ongoing basis.
  • Advocate for strategic investments in digital marketing and analytics tools and resources to keep our offering fresh, competitive and profitable.
  • Evaluate, build and maintain relationships in the local, regional and national online marketing, media, and vendor community.

 

Qualifications / Requirements

 

  • Degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related area of study.
  • Minimum of five years of marketing management experience focused on the development of strategic, digital communications programs.
  • Skilled in analyzing and interpreting analytics and research results and their business impact, and using the information to form marketing strategies, tactics and integrated program recommendations.
  • A solid understanding of developing social media programs, with specific knowledge in content development and digital PR.
  • Solid understanding of strategic marketing and planning.
  • Experience working in a digital firm, with knowledge of the firm’s business operations, policies and processes.
  • Successful track record of cultivating and winning new business in a digital marketing environment.
  • Excellent client-facing skills; a communications style and work style that engage the client collaboratively and responsively creating a positive “client experience.”
  • Proven track record in client service; demonstrated success in providing clients with on-strategy work and managing projects to on-time, on-budget completion.
  • Broad, up-to-date knowledge of traditional and online media with a strong understanding of marketing and the principles of advertising.
  • Excellent business and sales writing skills; experience writing briefs, proposals, strategy documents, communications plans and presentation talking points.
  • Strong verbal presentation skills; the ability to present credentials and marketing solutions to senior-level decision-makers to win confidence and acquire their business.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Internet technologies.
  • Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability to set priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiating and decision-making skills.
  • Team oriented and effective working in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Diplomatic, assertive, articulate, persuasive, flexible, confident, competitive and creative; an enthusiastic leader who demonstrates professionalism and attention to detail in producing quality work.
  • Valid driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance
