Applications Development / System Integration Engineer
Status: Closed
Integrate proprietary system software with IBM supercomputer hardware for installation at customer sites. This includes installing system software stack, writing complex scripts to stress the software and hardware, and being a principal point of contact with the customer and IBM. Assist the customer with programming techniques, performance enhancements, problem identification and resolution. Work closely with IBM’s hardware design engineers during system manufacturing and installation, to resolve hardware and software functional reliability problems.

Compensation:
50K-85K or 12-month Contract
Qualifications:
- 2 years experience installing system software on Unix systems
- Extensive experience with scripting languages
- C/C++ programming experience
- Understanding of the low-level interactions between hardware and software
- Ability to respond to changing customer priorities
- Demonstrated ability to maintain clear and detailed logs of system status, errors and hardware/software configurations
- Ability to travel to customer sites
- BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
- Computer architecture knowledge or computer system test experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment
- Ability to work independently to solve difficult problems and implement solutions
- Parallel programming experience is desired but not necessary
Note:
Specific experience in all these areas is less critical than is exceptional intellectual ability and a willingness to learn. Some travel along the East Coast required.
