Applications Development / Software Tester
Status: Closed
Design, implement and execute test plans for various components of proprietary system software. This will include stress-testing the system, and testing for reliability, faults and boundary conditions as well as basic functionality. Identify and log issues along with reproduction methods to enable software developers to resolve. Validate resolved problems and new system capabilities.

60K-80K Permanent or 12-month Contract
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years experience with white and/or gray box testing. Additional experience in other areas of software testing is considered a plus.
- Proven experience understanding product requirements and functionality, in order to design appropriate test plans and test cases to verify features and functionalities
- Desire to improve both the product and the development process
- Proven experience reading, understanding and analyzing other developers’ code (primarily C/C++)
- Ability to identify bugs through systematic testing
- Proven experience with scripting languages (Perl, Bash, Ksh, etc.) and other automation tools
- BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering
- C/C++ and Linux/Unix experience
- Computer architecture oriented
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt easily to evolving requirements
- Ability to work independently to solve difficult problems and implement solutions
